Lunar eclipse

A lunar eclipse, which occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun so the Earth blocks all the Sun's light from directly reaching the moon's surface, happened yesterday from 6am to 7am.  At that time, a shadow was cast and the surface of the Moon appeared dark.  If the Moon hadn't been a full moon, the eclipse wouldn't have been visible.  Furthermore, there are three kinds of lunar eclipse, penumbral eclipse, partial eclipse and total eclipse.  Despite the early timing of the eclipse many people went out and watched it.  Yesterday's eclipse was total as you can see in the pictures.
